Another year just begun which means it’s time for the annual Professor Duffy Team Épée event at Trinity College (Dublin). This year the event is being held on Saturday 28 January (men) and Sunday 29 January2012 (women). Full details and an online entry form are available here. Our club have entered teams for the last few years and it is always one of the highlights of the fencing year. Not that we ever get very far, but it is always good fun and it is a rare opportunity to compete against fencers at different levels from different countries. In a fit of enthusiasm this year the more, let us say, irregular of the Pembroke fencers have agreed to try and enter a few teams. What we lack in skill, or indeed prospects, we hope to make up in numbers and, well, enthusiasm. Hope to see you all there.
